Strep on the face

From the beginning....
Sunday, Delaney complained about a sore throat. She has NEVER complained about her throat, ever! We contemplated taking her to a doc-in-a-box, especially since she'd been stuffy for a week, but decided to see how she was on Monday. That night, she had a slight fever (around 100), but woke up fine and cool and no sore throat on Monday, so we sent her to school. Tuesday night we noticed what we thought were dry skin spots on her face. Derek put Aquaphor (love that stuff!) on them. Wednesday morning, they were a little worse, but we still didn't think much about them. Derek picked her up early from school Wednesday since my parents were in town and he was taking a half day. He called me as soon as he picked her up and told me to call the doctor...her face was "scary"! They got her in right away. Turns out she had impetigo (caused by the same bacteria that causes strep, who knew???). She's on an antibiotic and an ointment. Two days later, she looks a thousand times better.

She had her graduation from preschool that night. We debated not taking her, but ended up doing it. I covered her face with concealer and foundation, which took the redness away, somewhat. Graduation was good. I am going to try to figure out how to get a movie from our camera to the computer. Hopefully it will work and I can post her graduation!
