Delaney amazes us with her toughness and ability to not let pain and discomfort show. Here is a brief timeline of the last couple weeks:
Week of Nov 30: Has occasional cough during the day with periods of heavy coughing at night. Continues to go to school. Says she feels fine and doesn't complain of pain in throat or ears.
Saturday Dec 5th: We take her to the sick clinic at her doctors office. Diagnosis - Bronchitis and double ear infection. Is given medicine and told she is ok to continue to attend school if she feels fine.
Week of December 5th: Coughing continues and we go in for followup appt on Wednesday December 9th. Outside of random coughing she says she feels fine and continues to want to go to school. We contact her school and hold her out of recess and gym to avoid strenuous activity.
December 9th Checkup: Doctor not happy with progress. He feels that the illness has progressed and is now pneumonia and the double ear infection. Gives her new medicine since the first didn't help and puts her on a breathing machine that needs to be done every 4 hours. Schedules follow up on Friday December 11th
December 11th follow up: Doctor feels that if there was any improvement it was minor and requests that Delaney eliminate all excessive movement (basically watch movies and relax). She needs to continue the medicine and the breathing treatment and come back on Monday December 14th for followup. At the 12/14 follow up if she doesn't show marked improvement she will be admitted to the hospital.
More details to follow after Monday....

Wow...I didn't know she was this sick. We will surely pray for her. I will also ask that she be put on Fr. Kelly's prayer list.
