Help Us Decide...

We have been looking for several years but as of this writing we have unfortunately been unable to find the secret money tree...you know the one where the money grows on the branches. With this known we have to decide how to spend some money. Melissa and I are torn about which one of three options we should pursue and are looking to you, our friends and family to vote. Here are the choices (in alphabetical order):

1. Bedroom Furniture (Melissa is getting tired of looking at our bedroom furniture which happens to be the stuff I had as a kid. She would like to get some nice new furniture to match the room)

2. Buy an iMac computer (our laptop is from ~1993, and our desktop is from ~2003 but crashes on an hourly basis)

3. Trip to California (although we have lived in Singapore and have traveled to Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia, no one has been west of Chicago for vacation. We were thinking 9 days -- fly in to SanDiego and visit all sites as we drive up the coast...eventually flying out of SanFran)

Heart Love

While watching Idol the other night (yes, we do love it...it's the one thing all 3 of us have to see), Delaney said that she loved one of the guys. She went on to clarify that she didn't "heart love him, I just love the way he sings". We asked her who she heart loved, and she went on to name Matthew, Ayden, Olivia, a myriad of other friends from school, and Kelly (who Derek works with). Not one mention of the parents.....

Our wedding night

We went to Mike and Dana's (Mike and Derek work together) for dinner last night. Somehow weddings/honeymoons came up. They totally lost it when we told them where we stayed the night of our wedding....and we were reminded how funny it is too. No joke, we stayed at a bed and breakfast in Hanoverton, Ohio called the "Spread Eagle". Check it out for yourself....

Delaney-isms

New things from the world of Delaney......

1) Drew and Kelly (Kelly works with Derek) were over last weekend. We went bowling (for free...more on that later!) and then they came for dinner. Drew was looking to see what was on tv and came across "On Golden Pond". He and Delaney sat on the couch after dinner and watched the entire movie, as Derek, Kelly, and I hung out! They cuddled, shared some grapes, and some deep conversation about the movie (well, as deep as a four year old can get). I totally thought Drew was kidding when he said he wanted to watch it, but nope. Anyhow, guess what Delaney asks to watch every day???? "On Golden Pond"... I don't know if she really liked the movie, or just totally enjoyed her time with Drew.

2) Delaney is an American Idol junkie. She's loved the show since before she was two. She has her own ranking system and makes predictions as to what Randy, Paula, and Simon will say. She surprisingly is right about this most of the time. Her least favorite this week were the two girls who went home. She also said, more than once, "oh, I love him; he is so cute!" Perhaps a little boy crazy????

3) I can't remember if I reported that Delaney has a "boyfriend" at her school. His name is Matthew. About a month ago, Ayden (a girl) and Matthew were boyfriend/girlfriend. Well, Matthew decided to "switch", so now it's Delaney. Delaney got her haircut at school, and so did Matthew. She looked at me and said, "Matthew looks so handsome now". Ay, yai, yai!!!
