She's really become a fish since we arrived. She was pretty clingy last summer, so we had her take swimming lessons in the fall. She was doing better in those, until she had to miss 3 classes due to her "health issues"...pneumonia and the cast. She started off slowly here in Singapore, and then one day, out of the blue, she swam by herself with her head above water. She's gotten so much better since then. I guess having a swimming pool in your "backyard" is helpful!
We didn't do much over the weekend...Delaney had a fever Friday and part of Saturday. Saturday night we went to the Chingay Parade on Orchard Road. The parade is meant to signal the beginning of spring (ha...it's always summer here as far as we're concerned!). There were floats and performers from lots of different countries. Singapore's president even rode on a float. Derek and I were having a hard time picturing Dubya doing that! We didn't stay for the whole thing...but enjoyed what we saw.

Pretty impressed at D's swimming abilities :) That is way cool. Tell her she is a Superstar!!!
When I was in Thailand one time before Chinese New Year, I saw the Queen and a small entourage drive down the street (it was an open street festival at the time so no cars), stop, and go into a local store to 'bless' the store. Apparently it happens every year. What was impressive was that the security was fairly minimal. Just a few police for crowd control. Again, something you'd never see in this 'free' country of ours.
